Play Out at Eastman School of Music
Play Out (and guest musicians) will lead sessions with students at Eastman School of Music as an introduction to interactive performance. Students will have their first experiences going into a community venue in an Eastman program called Music For All next spring.
Through a mock performance and discussion, Play Out will demonstrate the tools and best practices of preparing to go into a community venue for the first time!
Play Out Collaboration: Education Concert at the Hawai'i Theatre
In collaboration with Ocean Music Action, Play Out is excited to co-design an educational concert for grades 3-6 children at the Hawai’i Theatre in Honolulu, featuringCarnival For The Nearly Extinct Animals by composer Stephanie Ann Boyd.
This event will include dance choreography by Dance Heginbotham and Ballet Hawai’i, as well as large scale puppetry by award winning puppeteer, Greg Corbino.
Mainstage performances of this work will take place on September 18th at 7:30pm, and September 19th at 3:00pm in the Hawai’i Theatre.
Play Out and The Knights @ The Clark Institute
Play Out and orchestral collective The Knights are teaming up for a morning exploration of folk melodies and dances from around the world!
In a program that includes musical influences from North America, Ireland, Armenia, China, and many more, Play Out is designing an interactive show that features remarkable “live drawing” video projections and design by Colombian artist, Jorge Carvajal.
Workshop at USDAN Summer Camp for the Arts

Featuring a performance of Caroline Shaw’s Boris Kerner for solo cello and flower pots, this interactive workshop is about connecting the sounds of instrumental music with the creation of abstract art. Percussionist Sam Budish joins on flower pots!
Play Out and Lawrence Chamber Music Festival @ Mile of Music Festival
Play Out is designing a multi-generational interactive concert featuring faculty and students of the Lawrence Chamber Music Festival called “Music in Motion”.
Featured as part of the Mile of Music Festival in Appleton, WI, this concert is in collaboration with the Mile of Music Education Team.
